Sandalwood Standing Bodhidharma
Couldn't load pickup availability
A contemporary hand-carved reproduction of Bodhidharma — the 28th disciple of Sakyamuni and the first patriarch of Chan (Zen) Buddhism in China. Depicted standing, robe drawn close, with the spare, weathered presence Chan iconography is known for.
Hand-shaped by master artisans from solid sandalwood, finished with natural oil to bring out the wood's deep grain and quiet fragrance.
A Note on Authenticity & Provenance
This sculpture is a contemporary studio reproduction, hand-carved in the traditional Chinese wood carving lineage — using camphor, sandalwood or aged hardwoods, finished with hand-applied mineral pigments or natural lacquer. Each piece is shaped by master artisans following techniques preserved across centuries.
It is inspired by the iconography and proportions of classical Chinese Chan Buddhist sculpture, but is not an antique or excavated artifact.
