A contemporary hand-carved reproduction of Vairocana Guanyin in the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) sculptural tradition — refined drapery, elongated proportions, and the deep stillness Ming sculpture is known for.
Vairocana (“Illuminator”) is one of Guanyin's 33 manifestations, embodying the all-pervading light of awakened wisdom. Hand-carved by master artisans in hardwood with polychrome mineral-pigment finish over a sealing ground.
A Note on Authenticity & Provenance
This sculpture is a contemporary studio reproduction, hand-carved in the traditional Chinese wood carving lineage — using camphor, sandalwood or aged hardwoods, finished with hand-applied mineral pigments or natural lacquer. Each piece is shaped by master artisans following techniques preserved across centuries.
It is inspired by the iconography and proportions of Ming dynasty Chinese Buddhist sculpture, but is not an antique or excavated artifact.
